Gerda Frömel

The rooms in the Gerda Frömel retrospective exhibition charted the progression of Frömel’s career, from her early sacred commissions work to her later, larger-scale sculptures. Some of the rooms partially recreated her 1964, 1967 and 1970 solo and group exhibitions at the Dawson Gallery.

This installation photo gallery (with images from photographer Paul Sherwood) highlights how IMMA’s exhibition was arranged and organised.

This room is a partial reconstruction of Frömel’s first solo exhibition in 1964 at the Dawson Gallery, Dublin. Using archive materials and installation photographs, the works have been gathered together from public and private collections.
